The models for this special painting is piano great, Hovie Lister, and the child is Savannah Grace, the Artist’s granddaughter. Hovie Lister, achieved many notable accomplishments in the world of gospel music. Among many other things, he founded the Statesmen Quartet and played piano at Elvis Presley’s funeral.

The idea of passing music along, hand to hand, person to person, was very important to Hovie. The original was unveiled at the National Quartet Convention 2001 and is on permanent display at the Southern Gospel Music Museum in Tennessee.
